Sometimes last year I was involved in a fatal accident that made me stay in the hospital for close to two years. I was badly injured because I was hit by a speeding vehicle. My family was very stressed out because they did not have a means of raising the hospital bills that had accumulated for that period of time. However, someone informed my parents of the existing government sickness Benefity that were being issued out to enable people who were not able to deal with hospital bills of a sick person to do so with ease, which was a great relief to them. The money was quite much because the hospital bill was cleared and the medicine I needed after being discharged was also purchased using the same money. Since I was badly injured and my limbs could not work for sometime even after being discharged from th hospital, my parents were to hire a carer for me as they were all working during the day. The carer was costly but since I was entitled to temporary disability benefits from the government according to a representative in the government benifit agency that my parents had sought sickness benefits, I was going to be able to afford a carer and the necessities I required during this period of time. I did not incur so much from my parents thanks to the government. Were it not for these benefits then my parents will b now bankrupt because I have so far spent so much money in the hospital. The car that had hit me was not insured contrary to the motoring rules of our country and therefore I could not be compensated by any insurance company.
